outland records proudly presents the debut release by two very young dutch lads who call themselves loops. they have already gained much attention the past few months with their stunning live-performance, creating mayhem everywhere they play. luckily the gents found some time to record two uberfunky floorfilling tracks which will please both dj and crowd when played out loud. tuner is one hell of a groovy piece with nice breaks and vocal snippets which will get you dancing your ass off. what the song 16, maybe 17, maybe 18 is all about we dont know (you figure it out), we do know that this track will get the people to move their butt to the dancefloor.

lets remixer speak! >it was great to be asked to do this. originally, i wanted to do something really quirky and funky with the strange vocal in human bond, one of my favorite old tracks. i tried a few times but i couldnt really get a vibe going in the funk realm. so i listened to the original over and over again and then the lightbulb turned on. i realized that the original was a monster rave track, like what you would hear in a warehouse in detroit in the 90s. so i threw out my original idea and went crazy with a huge techno builder, something to hype a big rave just like the original. maybe this doesnt sound exactly like what i usually do but that was the fun of making it< claude vonstroke. aa: >bounce your body to the box was one of the first kms records that i owned and it was all about the mike >hitman< wilson mix and force field on the b side. the production on the original was huge. the 909 groove just pounded everything... when that came out there was nothing that came close to it. so it was an honor and a challenge to mix it myself. first came the futurist bounce mix... not released on vinyl, anmerkung, ... which is more of a cover version than a remix. i had a lot of fun with this one but it definitely has a signature that steps away from the original. so i had to take a run at it one more time to pay a proper homage to the original with the flashback mix< mike shannon...

the pump ep is a typically genre-bending mixture of pumping, groovy house tracks, exploring the many sides of this highly regardedproducers fruitful repertoire. lead track the pump is a vivacious number that takes a clean, modern house aesthetic as a base and later infuses it with a dirtier, earlier morning vibe, with phoniques playful use of the resplendent chord stabs. its a slow burner indeed, and yet another example of his effortless arrangement talents. fancying a spot of fresh air and a trip into the audio countryside, bike ride is an even more playful journey into the kooky electronic world of phoniques studio outings. solid drums and warm sub bass provide the energy for all manner of pops and tweaks to unfold. its another deeper track but be warned it still has the power to lift a crowd up onto its tip-toes. going down more of a techno route, tooltime completes the package and breaks out the big guns for some serious heads down dancefloor ignition. urgent and tight late night action, not for the faint of heart, the tracks title is too modest - it should really read peak time

electric arguments is the first fireman album in 10 years, and this song based album couldnt be more different than its predecessors. for those who dont know by now, the fireman is a collaborative project between music icon paul mccartney and revered producer youth. the pair first worked together in the 90s when they made two ambient dance albums. originally the firemans identity was anonymous and was eventually revealed by the press as being paul and youth. in september it was announced that the fireman would this year release their first brand new material in a decade and this time there was a big difference - the duo had found their voice. speculation began, one studio insider was reported as saying the new songs sounds like arcade fire meets led zeppelin. certainly so far, anyone who has already heard the album has commented on just how accessible electric arguments is, compared to the first two fireman albums. this album is an eclectic and diverse collection of songs that show paul is still interested in pure musical possibilities. each track was written and recorded in the space of one day. the fireman went into the studio with no plan or clear direction of how they wanted the album to sound. the project took a life of its own and the results will surprise anyone expecting to hear the previous sound of the band.

ceephaxs drive time k7 was released as a bonus cassette with his first album, and is a cult classic. half an hour of music per side, ranging from banging vocal acid to the deepest and darkest side of ambient, with everything in between. the 27 tracks are a perfect description of andy jenkinson s original music universe, his roots. it took about quite a while to transfer it onto acetate, it was one of the most challenging vinyl cut that anyone can imagine. the making of this record is kind of similar to homer s iliad. the stamper was then stored for several years, safe from the dangers of heat and daylight. just like for the nicest bottles of wine. firtcask records just took this jewel out of the cellar...
